Riviera Comedy

I have just returned from a week of gigs on the French Riviera. Monaco, Cannes, Antibes and Nice with Andy White, Roger Monkhouse and, son, Stanley. What fun.

If you live in the South Of France I recommend these gigs, run by the lovely Olly and Amy, and booked by left-footed centre back ‘Thumper’ Dan Atkinson.

Couple Of Remarks

My son, Samuel, who is 9, was trying to persuade me the other day to buy him a pair of trainers. ‘They’re only nine pounds,’ he said. ‘For both’.

Then about a day later he was trying to persuade me to buy him some lego from Argos. He explained that something cost £35. I said I thought it cost £75. ‘No,’ he said. ‘It’s jaw-dropping prices.’

Joe Cole and Jamie Carragher , the footballers, were interviewed on ITV4 the other night. The interviewer was all over Cole asking him how he was settling at Liverpool, what he thought of Hodgson and so on. Carraagher was being ignored and eventually said, ‘Hey. I’m here too, you know’. Without pausing, the interviewer turned to him and she said, ‘So how do you think Joe Cole is settling in?’

Was it deliberate? There’s the big question.

TV Comedy Test Screening In Balham

Please come to a test screening of a new TV Comedy Pilot this Sunday May 16th at 6.15 at The Exhibit Cinema in Balham, right opposite the tube station.

The show is called Frisby’s Greatest Ever. It is written by Gary Delaney and me and directed by Brendon Connelly. A spoof of 100 Greatest Films or the many other clip shows you see where C-list experts ’share their thoughts’, it should appeal to anyone who loves films. It is about 17 minutes long and entry is free. Yes, free.

The make-up and prosthetics, by Aaron and Maralyn Sherman, who have made up everything from French and Saunders to Terry Gilliam’s Brazil, are something to see. Take a look at a couple of stills:

There are more stills here.

If you would like to come, please email me – frizzers [at] gmail.com – or text me on 07717 131931 to book a seat.

Once again show starts at 6.15 . It lasts about 20 minutes and entry is free.

Frisby’s Greatest Ever

Frisby’s Greatest Ever is a pilot for a new TV comedy I have been working on, directed by Brendon Connelly, and written by me and Gary Delaney. We will shortly be touting it around broadcasters.

The make-up and prosthetics are in my opinion absolutely superb. They were done by Araon and Maralyn Sherman of Sherman Make-Up Effects . Behold their work in the picture gallery.

Scrooby Trevithick

Currently playing on Thursday nights at 23:00 on Radio 4 is Andy Parsons’ sitcom Scrooby Trevithick.

It follows the exploits of hapless Scrooby, an enthusiastic but flawed wannabe who zealously posts his web diaries online and features Dara O Briain, Russell Howard, Hugh Dennis, Russell Kane, Rufus Hound, Alun Cochrane, Paul Thorne, Martin Coyote , Barunka O’Shaughnessy and, of course, me. It was produced by Paul Russell for Open Mike.

If you miss it, you should be able to find it on BBC iplayer.

New Video Added: The Avatar Rap

Thanks to another government sponsored initiative, our group of South London youths have taken more time off knife crime to explain the plot of the pioneering 3D movie Avatar.
